Upon arrival, we are taken to a typical Taiwanese breakfast place for local tofu specialties. We are quickly served hot, sweetened soy milks, tofu soup, boar dumplings, and omelette's. I soon realize I cannot excitedly shove everything down my throat. Despite my hunger and excitement for new food, I quickly become cognizant of the fact that I may not like every dish I come across. I become conscious of the reality that despite the generosity and friendliness of our hosts, this meal is not that good of quality; it is something like fast food, Taiwanese style. (I like the clock and the decor of the tofu shop.)
This rice thing is filled with wild boar and dried
daikon. The bore still has hair on it. I am not into it.
They started me off with tofu soup... weird. I am glad there is a huge variety of food awaiting me. This was not an impressive start.
The food is alright but it sure is a treat to eat warm food after 14 hours of flying/travel.
This omlette is inside a flakey pastry thing. Its more palatable than the other things I ate. Oh greasy food!
